Jazz Band

Alice can provide a jazz ensemble or jazz band in London, Essex, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and other areas of the UK

If you are looking for something a little different - a jazz trio or jazz band playing tasteful mellow jazz could be just the thing to add a nice easy relaxed ambience to your event or party. The main advantage of having a jazz ensemble is that the music tends not to intrude on conversation - allowing people to listen if they so choose.

The following line ups are available:

a) Vocals and piano

b) Vocals, piano and bass

c) Vocals, piano, bass and drums

d) Vocals, piano, bass, drums and saxophone

Here are some short biographies of the band members:

Eugene Portman on piano

Eugene was classically trained and worked mostly in that field before crossing over to jazz. His career has covered many genres of music which has helped him forge a unique style.

Eugene playing has been influenced by the likes of George Shearing, Oscar Peterson, Monty Alexander and Dudley Moore, so his playing tends not to be too high-brow and makes the ideal accompaniment to Alice's voice.
